Our fantastic 14-days Discover China Tour will provide you with a wonderful range of experiences, including some of the finest cultural heritage sties and spectacular landscapes China has to offer.

Due to an ancient history and deeply rich culture, Beijing has a wide range of exciting things to explore and we have developed a tour that will allow you to experience many of its wonderful highlights. Our Beijing experiences will include visits to the incredible Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven which are both considered unmissable for any visitor to China's capital city. We will also take you to experience a magnificent section of the Great Wall at Mutianyu.

Our journey then continues in the beautiful city of Xi'an, famous for its old city walls and its impressive bell tower. Xi'an acts as a perfect platform to visit the amazing Terracotta Army (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) that includes more than 6,000 individually crafted soldiers of stunning detail. Visits to Guilin, Longsheng, and Hangzhou will provide you with a wide array of adventurous and authentic activities including bike rides along ancient city walls, shadow puppet shows, and a trip to explore the incredible Reed Flute Cave. After a stay in Wuhan, famous for its spectacular canals and charming architecture, the final step of the tour takes us to the futuristic-looking city of Shanghai, which is beautiful blend of modern buildings and historical cultural heritage. This will include opportunities to see the Jade Buddha Temple and the impressive Yuyuan Garden. This is a truly spectacular way to see the highlights of China!

DAY 1 Arrival Beijing (D, by flight)
Your guide will meet the group at the airport and, after picking up the luggage, will transfer the group by private vehicle to a 4-star hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel, enjoy leisure time until dinner, to recover. After dinner, transfer to the hotel and have a good sleep to recover from any remaining jet-lag.

DAY 2 Beijing highlights (BL, 5km, 1.5-2hrs)
Today, we will get up early to Temple of Heaven, where emperors worshipped and prayed for Harvest during the Ming & Qing Dynasties. Every morning, locals take time to start their day doing Tai Chi, group aerobics, or even group chorus. We all have chance to learn Chinese Kung Fu, Tai Chi, both of which are internal Chinese martial art practiced for its health benefits. After that, we will follow in the footsteps of emperors, court ministers and eunuchs and head south to the magnificent and colorful Forbidden City. Forbidden City, the symbol of China, also called Gu Gong, was the Imperial Palace of China's royal family during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
afternoon, the whole group will be driven to the Summer Palace, one of the best preserved summer resorts of the royal family. It exhibits the quintessence of the Chinese classical landscape gardening. In the evening Peking Opera would be arranged as an option. You can visit the Zhengyici Theatre which is honored 'the living fossil of China's ancient opera towers'. Before the start of the show, you may also get a chance to go to the backstage to look actor makeup process.

DAY 3 Jiankou / Mutianyu Great Wall Hiking(BLD, 10km, 4-4.5hrs)
After breakfast, we will drive about 2 hours to a village called Xizaizhi at the bottom of Jiankou Great Wall. The 2-hour drive is through a picturesque valley famous for its delicious fish. Today is special! We will firstly take a small mountain trail behind one of the villagers' houses straight up to the wall. This part takes about one hour, and it is not that easy, but it allows one can imagine how the invaders felt, creeping upwards in the fog, the huge wall emerging directly above them, the guards on duty still-unaware, having their tea. When we get to the top, we will find the effort worth it - there is a deserted watch-tower right where we emerge onto the Wall, from which we will have a panoramic view of the whole valley, of the Xizazhi village below, and of the wall itself, snaking and disappearing over the mountain crest. The hike along the wall will take about 4 hours, and it is unlikely we will meet any other tourists along the way. Afterwards, emerging from the peaceful, authentic section of the Wall, so full of history, onto the restored portion of the Wall at Mutianyu, full of tourists! Back to downdown! Tonight, we will have a Peking Duck dinner - the capital's most famous dish. Once imperial cuisine, now the legendary duck dish is served at restaurants around the world.

DAY 4 Beijing / Stay in Xi'an (BLD, by air)
We will start the day with a rickshaw tour navigating Hutong, the network of local narrow alleyways. Hutong has a long history in Beijing. As the Forbidden City is the symbol of China's royal family, the Hutongs in Beijing show the real life of the common people. So we could really taste the life of common people in Beijing this morning. Lotus Market, located in Houhai area, is famous for old hutong and modern bars. We will also have chance to have a view of the Beijing Drum Show today to get close to the Chinese traditional art. Then we will visit 798 Art District. "798" modern Art Zone was originally the site of a factory that produced electronics. Its massive ducts and bright windows are seldom seen elsewhere. The halls were built using Soviet aid in the 1950s, with East Germany providing architectural and industrial design. After that, we will transfer to the airport and heading to Xi'an.

DAY 5 Xi'an Sightseeing (BLD)
In the morning, we will visit the magnificent Qin Terracotta Army, one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the world: a life-size clay soldier poised for battle. Qin's tomb was built in about 2500 years ago and was filled with more than 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots and 520 horses as well as models of palaces, pavilions, fine vessels, precious stones and rarities. We will find not one, but thousands of clay soldiers, each with unique facial expressions and positioned according to rank. UNESCO listed it in 1987 as one of the world cultural heritages. In the afternoon, drive back to downtown of Xi'an and visit the Forest of Stone Steles Museum, which is a themed museum focusing on displays of stone steles, epigraphs and stone sculptures from past dynasties. Compared with other museums, the outstanding characteristic of the museum is its collection of inscribed tablets. In the evening, enjoy the Chinese Dumpling Dinner with Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show.
DAY 6 Xi'an / Stay in Guilin (BLD, by air)
Breakfast served at hotel. In the morning, visit Shanxi History Museum. The Shanxi History Museum's permanent exhibition primarily displays Shaanxi's ancient history. Representative pieces from all periods have been selected to show the development of civilization in this region.
After that, we may have the chance to do the Biking Round the Old City Wall, China's most integrated and best-preserved Ming dynasty City Wall, and we will have an enjoyable and interesting experience. If we just cycle on the wall at a medium speed, 1.5 to 2 hours are OK. But some interesting performance will attract our eyes, making us have to stop there for watching.
This afternoon, drive to the Gao's Grand Courtyard and take some time to settle down for a short Chinese Shadow Play by a professional shadow puppet troupe. As we witness the colorful figures cut from leather and paper, enjoy ancient China's traditional stories. If the time permits, visit the Great Mosque and the old street. At the end of the visit today, we will drive directly to the airport for the flight to Guilin, a small city with great natural beauty of south China. Transfer to the hotel upon arrival.

DAY 7 Guilin / Longsheng (BLD, by air)
Breakfast served at hotel. Enjoy relaxing city tour covering the Reed Flute Cave, the most famous limestone cave in this area and good example of the Karst Formation with distinctly-colored stalactites. Later move on to Elephant Trunk Hill which is the symbol of Guilin. The locals store their rice wine in caves at bottom. Fubo Hill, located on the Li River is steeped in history and culture and the top provides a bird's eye view of the whole city and Li River. We also drop in on the Panda breeding program at Seven Star Park.
After lunch, drive about 2.5 hours to Longsheng. Here we will witness one of the most beautiful terraces in China, Longji Terraces and have an excursion there for ethnic minority culture. As soon as we get to the entrance of Longji, change the local shuttle bus for another 30 minutes uphill to Longji Ancient Zhuang Village, then start our short hike to Pingan Zhuang Village where our hotel is located. This hike route is quite non-touristy, during which we will enjoy the picturesque and peaceful rural life, and view the rice terraces from different angles and take a look at how farmers do their farm work. The hiking distance is around 4 kilometers with some small ups and downs, the ascent is about 60 meters, and we may need one hour to cover it.

DAY 8 Longsheng Hiking (BLD)
Wake up in the fresh air of peaceful morning to watch the magnificent sunrise in Ping'an Village Terraced Fields. After breakfast, hit the road for a 4-5-hour hike to Dazhai Village. Walk on the flagstone trekking path on the mountains with many ups and downs shared by the local minority farmers and water buffaloes, which allows you to have a better understanding of these mountain tribes and their real life. You may also stop at minority villages along the way for a break. On both sides of the path, terraced rice fields wait for you to take pictures. When you see more hanging buildings, you are approaching Dazhai Village, where the Jinkeng Red Yao Terraced Fields are the core heartland of the Red Yao ethnic group. In the villages the long-haired Yao ladies dress in their unique and dazzling red embroidered costumes. Then back to hotel in Pingan Zhuang Village at the end of the day.
DAY 9 Longsheng / Guilin / Hangzhou (BL, by air)
This morning is left free for you to take a leisure hike around the beautiful Dragon Backbones rice terraces to deep familiar with the local scene and culture. After lunch, leave the stunning rice terraces behind and start to walk 30 minutes down to the parking lot, while mist shrouds the mountain making it a scene of wonderland. Drive 2.5 hours to Guilin to take flight to Hangzhou. Enjoy the night in Hangzhou and take a leisure walk along the West Lake if you want.
DAY 10 Hangzhou (BLD)
Today, in the early morning, we will start our biking tour around the West Lake for the breathtaking-sunrise-view at the Lake. Then we will visit the Tea Museum and get an idea of the tea culture of China. We will visit a traditional tea farmer house and drink tea in their tea garden, while the host will show us the way of making green tea. After lunch, we will start our 3-hour leisure walk from Longjing village to a Bamboo forest, and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere that surrounded by diverse flora. At the end of the hike, drive back to the hotel by the lake for a good rest.
DAY 11 Wuzhen Sightseeing
Morning your guide and driver pick you up from Hangzhou and drive for Wuzhen. Lying on the Grand Canal and completely encircled by two rivers, Wuzhen is one of China's ancient water towns, where waterways thread their way through the flagstone streets and alleys. Morning take some time to walk along the alleys and byways of Wuzhen, and visit a wine making plant, a local printing workshop. After a local traditional lunch, continue to visit an exhibition of antique beds from the Ming & Qing Dynasties. After that, you may take a boat cruise through the town's canals. On the wooden boat you can enjoy the atmosphere of the traditional cultures and the original ancient features of the town that have been preserved intact, the elegant watery views and the strong local colored traditions and customs.
DAY 12 Shanghai Sightseeing (BLD)
Morning, transfer to Shanghai, check in the hotel. Today, enjoy your full day city tour covering the Jade Buddha Temple. Then move to Yuyuan Garden, a Chinese classic garden in city downtown, and the nearby old street. Each section of the garden is separated by curved white walls crowned with the head and body of a dragon on them. Next have a bird-eye view of the city after ascending Shanghai new landmark- Shanghai Financial Center in the new and fast-developing Lujiazui. An Acrobatic Show in Shanghai will be served this evening.
DAY 13 Shanghai (B)
Enjoy leisure time on your own in the nice city and go shopping. In the evening, have a nice walk along the Bund, and Nanjing Road, one of the most famous shopping streets in the world.
DAY 14 Departing Shanghai (B, by air)
Breakfast served at hotel. Pick up from hotel and transfer to airport to take flight departing Shanghai and back home.
